Manufacturing Engineer I

Location: Menlo Park, CA

About the Role

We’re seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to drive operational excellence across key manufacturing processes, including additive manufacturing, production line optimization, supplier strategy, and equipment lifecycle management. This role is critical to supporting efficient production, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enabling scalable growth.

You’ll partner closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, introduce improvements, and support new product transfer activities. What You’ll Do

  • Support all aspects of day-to-day manufacturing and production operations.

  • Select, validate, calibrate, and maintain production equipment.

  • Manage manufacturing production metrics and reporting.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead change initiatives.

  • Develop and support new or alternative manufacturing process workflows.

  • Conduct data entry and analysis; develop procedural documentation and process flow charts.

  • Participate in insource/outsource decision-making and supplier selection.

  • Support design transfer activities across engineering and operations.

  • Execute additional projects and responsibilities as required.


What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience in the medical device industry (21 CFR 820 or ISO 13485)—experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or product development preferred.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills using scientific and logical thinking.

  • Strong verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • High attention to detail, particularly with documentation accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.

  • Commitment to quality and dedication to doing what’s right—comfortable raising and resolving quality concerns proactively.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Working knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL, Visual Basic).
